In the late 80's I enrolled in a weekly beginning jewelry class held once a weekly evening at our local university. It lasted 6 sessions and I was able to take two more sessions in two years. This was followed by open studio experience at another university and community center that continued for about 10 years. An occasional workshop came along to add interest, and eventually my pieces were accepted by several local galleries in the Tampa Bay area. My "day time job" continued until 2007 and retirement - I could then devote more time to studio work.
eBay was the first on-line experience to be followed later by Etsy. At this time I sell through 5 galleries in Pinellas County here on the West coast of Florida.
Each piece of jewelry is individual, and I combine sterling, stone cabochons, carved bone, found objects and a variety of metal textures and colorations. Some pieces are strictly for fun, and others are serious.
